| The Barangay Ginebra Kings notched their fourth consecutive victory but had to fend off a fiery comeback by the Red Bull Barakos down the stretch to salvage an 83-76 decision Wednesday night in the KFC-PBA Philippine Cup at the Araneta Coliseum. Ronald Tubid tallied 15 points and 11 rebounds to show the way for the Kings, who built a 17-point lead late in the third quarter but almost blew it away when they went through an offensive meltdown in a span of seven minutes bridging the third and fourth quarters. | |

Lucia Realtors Wednesday assuring the Asian Coating franchise of at least a playoff for a wildcard round slot in the KFC PBA Philippine Cup. "It's all about hard work. | Alaska and Coca-Cola both return from a long rest clashing with each other Friday in a crucial rematch in the 2008-09 KFC PBA Philippine Cup elimination phase at the Araneta Coliseum. The Aces and the Tigers are wary of one another in the contest preceding an equally important match pitting the Barangay Ginebra Kings and the Air21 Express. “We expect Coke to play with a little desperation, making them very dangerous,” said Alaska coach Tim Cone of the Tigers aching to make a push entering the homestretch of the elims. | |
